One Hundred Twenty-Fifth Entry

In an effort to increase readership, I have decided to introduce two new features into my blog: "Song of the Week" and "Friday's Fun Fact".

The "Song of the Week" will be a song that I have heard recently that I particularly like and would like to introduce to the rest of you all. I will try to post it on Mondays, and include a link to a clip of the song. I will also write a blurb about the artist and the song.

"Friday's Fun Fact" will be an interesting fact that I learned during the week.

It's time for the.....
Song of the Week

This weeks selection was hard to make because it is hard to find a clip of a lot of the songs I wanted to choose.

This artist is a former member of the a huge British pop group, the Sugababes. Although she is only 18, she had spent the last three and a half years of her life in that group. Impressive! Believe it or not, she was the oldest member of the Sugababes, and left because she felt she wasn't living up to her full potential in the group.

Siobhan Donaghy's youth is not detectable in her latest single, "Overrated". It is a very grown up track, compared to some of the stuff I've heard from the Sugababes. Although you shouldn't listen to it when depressed, it is a great sound. The song starts with a pretty sad guitar. Then her voice starts in and all hope for a happy song is lost. Her voice sounds depressed, as if she is grieving. The lyrics are also very depressing. But I love this song.

This single did decently well in the UK...not well enough for how much I like it.

Siobhan Donaghy - Overrated. You will need to navigate a bit. Click the enter link. Click the "Listen to her New Tracks" link under "Latest News". Then click on the "Overrated" link. Enjoy.

And let me know what you think of the song and of the new feature.
