One Hundred Fortieth Entry

The more I listen to the new Travis CD, the more convinced I am that this is one of my favorite CD's. By far my favorite song is Beautiful Occupation. It's a protest song against the war in Iraq. Very nice. Good lyrics. Re-offender is another great track.

I played Sims all day today and yesterday. Great fun. Since I bought my new computer, I hadn't installed the Sims, so I am having to start anew. It's fun.

The Yankees lost last night. I am soooo happy! They are winning 4-0 right now, but its only the third inning.

I spoke with Mylinh today. She is doing well. She likes Vietnam. She asked about "The Gang" and sends her love to all.

Did you know it costs $5.00 a minute to call to Vietnam if you don't have any of those fancy int'l calling plans? Well it does.

I have decided to take a laid back approach to work. Yeah it is boring me stiff. And yeah I can't get anywhere at the County unless someone leaves (not gonna happen) or dies. But I only have to be here for one and a half more years! My stay in Tulare is very nearly half over.

My boss and supervisor at work were trying to convince me to enter a Masters program with them. We were talking about the GRE and stuff. I think it is a masters in Public Administration, which is completely worthless unless you plan on working in the Public Sector for the rest of your life. Which I don't

Did I tell you about Adam's job? He has the ultimate coolest Civil Engineering job. I am sooooo jealous. He works for Provost and Pritchard in Fresno. They get two bonuses a year which are a certain percentage of your salary. They have a really cool breakroom with Ping-Pong and the like. They get one $50 gift certificate to the store of their choice every month (Adam chose Home Depot). Every five years that a person has worked there, they get "roasted", which sounds really cool. They have company picnics and a softball team. And the ass kicker...if Adam referred me to work there and I got hired, he would get $1000! He already promised me $300 of it. I wish I worked there. The thing is that the type of Civil Engineering that they do is not the type I like doing. Besides, they aren't hiring.

Gotta go, The Office is on.
